Guide to Characters and Locations in "trembling on the branch"

OCs and minor characters who play a role in the fic, organized by chapter where they first appear:

Chapter 1

Bi Xingming (毕星明, Bì Xīngmíng)—Canon, former Window of Heaven member who defected to Four Seasons Manor. Taken as a student by Bi Changfeng, a Four Seasons Manor disciple who accepted the Nails in episode 1. 2nd male disciple.

Shi Jiahao (施家豪, Shī Jiāháo)—Former Window of Heaven member who defected to Four Seasons Manor. Canon insofar as I can point to him on a screenshot, but I made up everything else. 7th male disciple.

Bian Yehui (卞业晖, Biàn Yèhuī)—Former Window of Heaven member who defected to Four Seasons Manor. Canon insofar as I can point to him on a screenshot, but I made up everything else. 6th male disciple.

Cai Heng (蔡恒, Cài Héng)—Former Window of Heaven member who defected to Four Seasons Manor. Canon insofar as I can point to him on a screenshot, but I made up everything else. 11th male disciple.

Guo Jingli (郭静丽, Guō Jìnglì)—OC, 3rd female disciple of Four Seasons Manor.

Chapter 2

Cheng Zichen (程子晨, Chéng Zichén)—Canon, former Window of Heaven member who defected to Four Seasons Manor. Taken as a student by Cheng Xiu, a disciple of Four Seasons Manor, but I missed that until well after I'd already written something else in this fic. Sorry, Zichen. 3rd male disciple.

Chapter 4

Yun Shuying (云疏影, Yún Shūyǐng)—OC, wanderer without a sect.

Chapter 5

Feng Yan (冯岩, Féng Yán)—OC, senior-most female disciple of Four Seasons Manor.

Su Yuanyu (苏鸢羽, Sū Yuānyǔ)—Former Window of Heaven member who defected to Four Seasons Manor. Canon insofar as I can point to him on a screenshot, but I made up everything else.

Ma Cangbo (馬沧波, Mǎ Cāngbō)—OC, 20th male disciple of Four Seasons Manor and the first male disciple not recruited from Window of Heaven. (Both Feng Yan and Ma Tingqian, his elder sister, are his seniors).

Ma Tingqian (馬婷倩, Mǎ Tíngqiàn)—OC, 2nd female disciple of Four Seasons Manor.

Chapter 7

Mo Huaiyang (莫怀阳, Mò Huáiyáng)—Canon. On the off-chance, dear reader, that like me, you had trouble keeping the Gentle Wind Sword Sect straight: Mo Huaiyang is, of course, Cao Weining’s shifu and the sect leader who led the attack on Mount Qingya and personally killed his disciple.

Mo Weixu (莫蔚虚, Mò Wèixū)—Canon, Cao Weining’s da-shixiong. After the attack on Mount Qingya, Fan-shishu’s body was found, but Mo Weixu was still missing.

Chapter 10

Chao'er (超, Chāo)—OC, 3rd-youngest disciple of Four Seasons Manor.

Chapter 11

Zhao Wenda (赵闻达, Zhào Wéndá)—Canon but obscure. The leader of Lake Tai sect before Zhao Jing. I had different names for him in my notes for episodes 28 and 33, but I went with the one from 33 because it was spoken out loud during Zhao Jing's unmasking.

Zhao Hong (赵洪, Zhào Hóng)—OC, Zhao Jing's successor as leader of the Lake Tai sect.

Chapter 12

Jiang Weilun (姜伟伦, Jiāng Wěilún)—Former Window of Heaven member who defected to Four Seasons Manor. Canon insofar as I can point to him on a screenshot, but I made up everything else.

Chapter 13

Shen Lei (沈磊, Shěn Lěi)—OC, Shen Shen's first disciple and heir.

Sects and Locations

Chongwu Palace (崇武, Chóngwǔ)—Headquarters of the Yueyang sect.

Kunzhou (昆州, Kūnzhōu)—The area where Four Seasons Manor is located. (This fic makes no claims to geographical or historical accuracy, but given that Kunming in Yunnan was both named this at one point in history and has much tourist-aimed writing about the flowers you can see there throughout the year, I've used that as a touchstone).

Lake Tai (太, Tài)—As in, Lake Tai sect, the group once led by Zhao Jing.

Mount Changming (长明, Chángmíng)—The mountain Ye Baiyi once called home.

Mount Dagu (大孤, Dàgū)—As in, Mount Dagu sect.

Mount Qingfeng (清风, Qīngfēng)—The location of the Gentle Wind Sword Sect.

Mount Qingya (青崖, Qīngyá)—The location of Ghost Valley, or perhaps a mountain nearby used as a shorthand for the Valley.

Nanjiang (南疆, Nánjiāng)—The area where Jing Beiyuan and Wu Xi live.

Sanbai Manor (三白, Sānbái)—Zhao Jing's residence.

Yueyang (岳阳, Yuèyáng)—As in, Yueyang sect.
